CONSIGNMENT SERVICES FOR
PCB PROTOTYPES AND PRODUCTION

With our consignment service, you send us the printed circuit boards and components and we’ll assemble the entire order for you using our state-of-the-art automated pcb assembly process.

Kitted Labels Provided

Advanced Assembly provides kitting labels for any parts that you provide to make packaging easier.  We recommend that you send extra parts due to possible attrition during the pcb assembly process.  We don't experience much loss, but to be safe we appreciate having a small amount of overages to avoid any delays in assembly.

Passive Devices:
0603 and larger footprints: Add 20% to build quantity plus an extra 20 pieces.

0402 and 0201 footprints: Add 100 % overage plus 100 extra pieces. One continuous tape strip required.

All others add 20% overage.

IC's:
Under $1.00 - Add 20% overage.
$1.00 - $5.00 - Add one piece.
Over $5.00 - No extra is required.

Parts that are properly shipped in anti-static carriers or in moisture sensitive packaging will be treated with care both while being inventoried and placed. Any unused parts are returned with your job.

Please ensure that you indicate your Advanced Assembly assigned BUILD# with every shipment to make it easier for our team to identify and manage your inventory when it arrives at our dock.

No Reels Required!

You should NOT have to buy entire parts reels for proto and low volume build requirements.

Other companies promise quick-turn pcb assembly as long as components are supplied on reels. They are not equipped to handle loose parts or itsy-bitsy cut tape.

At Advanced Assembly, we can accept parts in any form of packaging - loose, cut tape or reels:

  • CUT TAPE – ANY length is acceptable for us – even itsy-bitsy cut tape is OKAY
  • Loose Components – OKAY
  • Reels –OKAY

In most cases, your consigned kit will undergo a thorough audit upon reaching our dock. An audit report is usually generated within 24 hours of receiving your kit.  However, depending on the urgency of your build, we may verify devices, as they are being populated, and report any discrepancies as they arise.

Bare PCB’s

We recommend having a silkscreen on your PCB that indicates polarity and 1st-pin markings.

Special Handling Requirements

Please provide special handling instructions if your kit includes devices that cannot be washed in an aqueous cleaner or other special handling requirements.
